Way back in Laos, when we were volunteering at the Organic Farm in Vang Veing, we worked briefly with a guy who said he was a journalist. When he asked if he could interview us over breakfast one day we said “hey, sure why not”, thinking he was writing for some blog or maybe a local newspaper. Six months later he sent us a link to what turned out to be a not so local newspaper. It’s a actually a great article, giving an accurate portrayal of life on the farm with more background information than even we knew about. Look for quotes from your truly on page 2… too bad I couldn’t manage to slip in our blog name in somewhere.

Could it be the BLog title?
I have to admit, the guy does have a streak for exelclent, ancient fashioned Hmong hilarity. And his timing for blurting out the most amusing words were impeccably well paced/placed, too. I normally am not amused by ancient fashion, traditional Hmong men’s jokes about women but this one was on HIM, at his own expense, and, again, with the timing so well done, in his exchange with the women behind the camera (all of whom knew each other) . this was just hearty silliness fun joking, I suppose!
