About us

We are TD and Kim, a young-ish couple hailing from San Francisco. Like many young professionals in the area, we were formerly employed in the technology/silicon valley/geek sector. From 2009 to 2011, we decided to leave the rat race behind, sell our crap and travel the world. Both of us liked the idea of creating a blog to keep in touch with our friends and family. I mean, mass emails are SO 1998. Through our blog, we’ve been able to ease the parental worrying, stay connected to friends, exchange advice and even meet some of our readers. We will continue to write about future trips, offer tips and reflect on our travels.

And yes, our language is rather salty. Despite our mothers’ constant admonishing, we have filthy mouths. That’s just how we roll.

Hi ran across this blog and hoped to make a personal contact and we plan on going to Patagonia in the next year, and good info is hard to find on the commercial web. We live in Ecuador so Patagonia is a natural place for us to travel. At age 72/57 I am a bit careful in being sure my “can do keeps up with by want to. I have been traveling for over 40 years, lived on a sailboat, did business for years and spent a great amount of time in Indonesia. Most people call me a young 72 and camping is probably easier for me than wife. We are budget travelers, buses, ferry’s, bechucks, but will spend money when that is what it takes. At any rate very interested in personal experiences
